Action Against Cancer

Supporting 'Action Against Cancer'

I am sure that many of you are already aware that Karen Spencer, the wife of our Senior Operations Managers Paul Spencer, was recently diagnosed with Cancer. Karen is currently undergoing a course of Chemotherapy at St Barts Hospital in London and all of our thoughts and prayers are with her.

Following his mothers illness, Paul’s son David has committed to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for Action against Cancer.
Action against Cancer is a registered charity that helps fund the development of cures for cancer at Imperial College, Hammersmith Hospital. The team are led by world-renowned oncologist, Professor Justin Stebbing who has personally agreed to support David in his fund raising.
H&M Security and its entire staff are supporting David in his challenge and we will be reporting on his progress.
David says ‘Cancer is a disease that has affected a number of people close to me recently, including my Mum. Myself and two friends, who also have close family who have been affected by cancer, have decided to take the challenging 6-day Macheme Route up Kilimanjaro. The climate zones vary from Rainforest to Heather and Moorland to Alpine Desert and then the Summit which is Arctic conditions where the temperature ranges between -20 and -30 degrees.
Our challenge will take place between the 14th to the 22nd of March-2014’.
